Horror fans rejoice! My newest novel, Vigo, is now available.
Vigo is the first horror novel set in the Seven Branches of Rhigorrim. Readers who are familiar with my previous books will recognize the larger world and mythology that connects this story to the rest of my books.
Vigo is one of the most intense stories I’ve written. It contains, blood, gore, violence, and supernatural terror, so readers should expect a much darker experience than they’ve encountered in some of my other works.
Even so, the story still contains the Christian undertones that run throughout my fictional universe.
Beneath the horror are themes of faith and the danger of pride. The story examines what happens when religious leaders become more concerned with protecting their authority than listening to those who are suffering. It also asks whether a good intention can justify accepting power from an evil source.
At its heart, Vigo is a story about false worship, corrupted power, and the struggle to remain faithful when darkness offers an easier path.
Readers who have followed the Seven Branches of Rhigorrim will find familiar locations and creatures throughout the story. Archimedes, the Ethra, the Zorne, Antaria, Helthivon, Tiragalda, and the Senalic Church all play important roles in the larger world that connects Vigo to my other books.
At the same time, the novel can be read on its own. New readers don’t need to have read the previous books to understand the story, but those already familiar with the universe may recognize deeper connections and references.
I’m grateful to everyone who has supported my writing and continued exploring the Seven Branches with me. Creating Vigo allowed me to explore the darker side of my mythology, and I’m excited for readers to finally experience it.
